A Glorious Day for Engines and Giving Back
After a rainy start, the skies over Finch House in Salisbury cleared just in time for the rumble of engines and the glint of polished chrome. On Wednesday 21st May, our Chapters community welcomed 15 vintage, classic and modern motorcycles for an uplifting afternoon of fundraising, connection and nostalgia.

A Parade of Two-Wheeled History
The bikes, some dating back as far as 1928, rode in convoy from the Salisbury Motorcycle & Light Car Club and were proudly displayed outside our beautifully restored Grade II-listed Finch House. The collection featured a range of models, including early Japanese classics, vintage British machines, and “modern classics” from the late 20th century that are fast becoming legends in their own right.
Guests, homeowners and local visitors gathered to admire the line-up - each machine lovingly restored and full of character, much like Finch House itself.

Supporting Two Important Causes
The event raised nearly £200, with donations split between Help for Heroes and Salisbury Foodbank, thanks to contributions from guests, raffle entries and sales of cakes and refreshments. Among those supporting the event were Maria and Clare from Salisbury Foodbank, and Philip Kimber, a Help for Heroes ambassador and former member of the Bomb RAF Regiment - an often unsung ground force of the Royal Air Force. Philip shared his inspiring journey of recovery after being seriously injured while serving.
“When I was hit during my deployment, my life changed in an instant. I had to rebuild everything - physically, emotionally and mentally. Help for Heroes gave me the tools and the support to do that. They were there through the darkest days, and they’ve never stopped being there. It’s thanks to organisations like Platinum Skies and events like this that the message spreads. It’s not just about raising money - it’s about reminding veterans like me that people care, and that help is out there.”

Cakes, Chrome and Community Spirit
Alongside the striking bike display, guests enjoyed cakes, chilled Prosecco and a friendly atmosphere that brought homeowners, bike lovers and supporters of two vital causes together in celebration.

Life at Platinum Skies: More Than Just a Home
This memorable afternoon is just one example of the vibrant community life at Platinum Skies, where homeowners enjoy the freedom to connect with others, get involved in local initiatives, and celebrate what matters most to them - whether that’s motors, gardening, or giving back.
