Motorcycle Charity Event at Finch House, Salisbury

Our Chapters community at Finch House hosted a spectacular vintage and modern classic motorcycle showcase, in partnership with the Salisbury Motorcycle and Light Car Club.

Under sunny skies, 15 bikes - from a 1928 classic to modern legends - arrived in convoy, delighting guests and homeowners alike. The event raised nearly £200 for two fantastic charities: Salisbury Foodbank and Help for Heroes, a national organisation we’re proud to support in their work with injured veterans and their families.

Classic Car Show in Support of Help for Heroes

Homeowners at Chapters in Salisbury welcomed an impressive line-up of vintage and classic cars. With the impressive Grade II-listed Finch House as a backdrop, it turned into a celebration of British motoring history. The allure of the classic cars created a joyful and vibrant atmosphere, raising £305 for Help for Heroes, while also giving car lovers a chance to chat about engines, restoration, and nostalgia over tea and cake.

Donation to Help for Heroes from Finch House Sales

Platinum Skies proudly donated £1,500 to Help for Heroes, raised from the sale of homes at Finch House - our beautifully restored, Grade II-listed building in Salisbury.

The cheque was presented to John Carpenter, Community Fundraising Manager at Help for Heroes, by James Davies, Managing Director at Platinum Skies, alongside members of the veterans’ community living at Chapters.

Finch House marks the final phase of the redevelopment of the former Old Manor Hospital site, now home to a thriving later-living community. Set in a city with a rich military heritage, the donation reflects our support for a cause that continues to make a meaningful difference to the lives of veterans and their families. As John Carpenter shared:

“We are deeply grateful for this donation from Platinum Skies. Every pound raised helps us continue our essential work supporting veterans and their families after service. Contributions like this are critical to helping people recover and live well.”

This donation adds to a growing list of community-led fundraising initiatives supported by Platinum Skies homeowners across the Southwest.

Sherborne in Bloom

Our homeowners in Sherborne are rolling up their sleeves and making a difference, quite literally planting seeds of joy. As part of the town’s Sherborne in Bloom initiative, members of our gardening club are volunteering their time and talents to create vibrant floral displays across the town centre. It’s all part of a shared goal to bring beauty and pride to the place they call home.

Help for Heroes Fundraising

The British Armed Forces charity, Help for Heroes, supports veterans and their families to live well after service.

Their mission resonates with our core values: to empower individuals to flourish during retirement and embrace life to the fullest.

We support the charity by holding fundraising events at our retirement communities in Salisbury, Sherborne, Taunton, and Poole.

We are incredibly grateful for all donations to Help for Heroes. No matter how big or small, your contribution will help provide veterans with holistic life-changing physical and mental health support.
