In a heartwarming display of community spirit, homeowners at our Salisbury's over 55s community, Chapters, have come together to raise an impressive £180 for the Stars Appeal, the NHS charity for Salisbury District Hospital.

Situated at the heart of Salisbury city centre, Chapters is a Platinum Skies retirement community known for its close-knit, supportive atmosphere. To gather funds for the Stars Appeal, homeowners organised a spirited fundraising quiz and set up a donation pot in their communal bistro. This generous act was born out of deep gratitude for the unwavering support that the Platinum Skies team, homeowners, and their families have received from Salisbury District Hospital over the years.
Supporting Salisbury Hospitals STARS appeal
Patricia Hayter and Patricia Dunford, two Chapters homeowners, were invited to visit the hospital's new maternity entrance and reception, as part of a presentation of the funds raised. Here, they witnessed firsthand how contributions, such as the one from Chapters, directly benefit both patients and staff. Additionally, they had the privilege of listening to Dave Cates, Head of Fundraising for the STARS Appeal, talk about the diverse ways in which the charity lends its support to all wards and departments in the hospital.
Jenny Abbott, Community Manager at Chapters, expressed the overwhelming joy felt by the community, stating, "We were absolutely thrilled to be invited to go and visit Salisbury District Hospital to see the incredible difference that donations like ours make to the good cause. Our homeowners got so much joy from hearing about how the charity has had a positive impact on the lives of people who live in Salisbury and the surrounding area of Wiltshire."
