We are proud to partner with Salisbury City Council to host the inaugural Older People's Lunch on Thursday 7th September.
Lunch hosted by the Mayor of Salisbury
The Mayor of Salisbury Cllr Atiqul Hoque is inviting honoured guests to the first ever Older People’s Lunch at Salisbury’s Guildhall to say a big thank you for the contributions members of our older community bring to the city.
Invited attendees will have the opportunity to listen to introductions from the Mayor of Salisbury, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Phil Harding, and John Glen, MP for Salisbury. Our team will also give an introduction to the difference that our Chapters retirement living community makes to our homeowners and guests will also have the chance to chat with Salisbury’s Older Peoples Champion Irene Kohler.
With a free two-course lunch served by local caterers Charter 1227, guests will be able to celebrate the support and social activities on offer across the city. The event will raise awareness of the opportunities in our community and enable new friendships and partnerships where interested parties can share skills.
Cllr Atiqul Hoque, the 762nd Mayor of Salisbury said: “This is a way to celebrate and thank those in the community for all the work they do, whether big or small, to make Salisbury a happy place for all our residents no matter what their background. Building on our strengths, we will continue to make our city a great place to live, bringing the community together for the benefit of everyone.”
The event will include a prize raffle with contributions to be awarded to the Mayor’s chosen charities, Salisbury Hospice, Salisbury Rotary Club and Riding for the Disabled. Some fantastic prizes will be on offer including a meal in the onsite bistro at Platinum Skies’ Chapters community.

"Many of the homeowners who live in our Chapters community give back to the community, including fundraising for Salisbury District Hospital and volunteering at Salisbury Cathedral, so we are proud to celebrate that life doesn’t stop at retirement and it gives people the chance to support their fellow Salisbury residents.”

Our Chapters community off Wilton Road comprises apartments, houses and cottages, enabling over 55s to live independently with the benefit of like-minded, sociable neighbours who enjoy events and activities together. It features a host of communal spaces exclusively for our homeowners including an onsite bistro and bar, activity room, homeowners’ lounge, and treatment room.
Work to rebuild and restore the Grade II listed building, Finch House, is nearing completion. It is being converted into 21 one-of-a-kind apartments, with access to the shared communal facilities enjoyed by all Chapters homeowners.
