Our Sherborne homeowners at our community at the top of the A30 and Horsecastles Lane have raised over £1,100 for a good cause.
Fundraising to support a local cause
Throughout the last 12 months, our homeowners have carried out a host of fundraising activities for their chosen charity, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Hayley McDonough, Community Manager for Sherborne, said: “Our homeowners are so generous with their time and donations towards what we feel is such a worthy cause and so we are thrilled to have raised over £1,100 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
"The homeowners have loved getting creative and baking to raise money throughout the year at every opportunity, and it was lovely to be able to hand that money over to the charity.”
Homeowners hosted events throughout the year to raise funds for the good cause including a raffle at a fundraising lunch, mini fetes, and their Christmas fayre.
Our community’s Get Crafting group work together to knit hats, baby clothes and blankets which are sold throughout the year to boost donations for the air ambulance charity.
Becky Heath, Supporter Engagement Officer for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “We are so grateful for this generous donation from the Platinum Skies Sherborne homeowners and thank everyone involved in raising such a fantastic amount.
“With no direct funding from the Government or National Lottery, we rely on the generosity of the public to help us raise our operational costs of over £5 million a year. This donation will make a big difference and help us to continue being there for the patients who need us.”
