Our Interior Designer Tony Jones shares his secrets on making the most of the space in your home and trying something new…The way in which you decorate your apartment can help you to have your new start while still feeling at home.
We decorate our properties using pale colours such as white, cream, pale greys and blues to ensure a light and airy feeling. Adding a mirror is a great way to create a statement wall if you would rather not have the fuss of putting up wallpaper. Or consider some new cushions and throws or perhaps a new bed set to inject bolder colours.
Space & Storage
The key to making the most of your space is storage; discreet ottomans or blanket boxes that look good but are large enough to hide away what you don’t want on show. Shoving furniture against the wall doesn’t guarantee more space. Try angling your bed or our favourite trick of floating the sofa in the living room with a skinny console behind it.
‘Breathing room around your furniture lends the appearance of more space.’
This could be an exciting project and you may even take up interior design as a retirement hobby.
