Join us for an exclusive event hosted by Platinum Skies retirement community at Mulberry House in Sherborne, featuring special guest: Sherborne Castle Wines.
Join us on Wednesday 30th April from 2pm to 4pm and enjoy the following highlights:
Wine making at Sherborne Castle Estates dates back to the Middle Ages when Bishop Roger planted a vineyard on the northern side of the lake.
In 1982, John Wingfield Digby revived the tradition at Wake Court in Bishops Caundle. The 3-hectare vineyard sits on a south-facing slope with limestone loam over clay soil, using the Geneva Double Curtain system to improve light exposure and fruiting. The Wake Court Vineyard is a prime example of English wine production.
