The activity room in our Chapters community, off Wilton Road, was filled with crafting homeowners who got together to create the colourful heart-shaped decorations for Celebration: A Festival of Flowers, which opens today in Salisbury Cathedral and closes on Sunday 15 May.
Our homeowners within the over 55s community used card, tissue paper and wool to create the hearts which have been specially made for a display in the nave of Salisbury Cathedral. This year’s theme for the event is The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to mark over 800 years of Salisbury Cathedral.
Chapters has two dedicated Community Managers, Jenny and Ashleigh, who help to organise fun activities such as wine tasting workshops, yoga, coffee mornings, quizzes, and crafts, as well as providing practical and emotional support to the homeowners. Communal spaces within Chapters include an onsite bistro and bar, activity room, treatment room, homeowners’ lounge, guest suite, and garden area.

Ashleigh Ward, Community Manager for Chapters, said: “Some of our homeowners are members of the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral and so they were keen to take part in the creative activity with their fellow neighbours. It was fantastic to see what they have created and really special for them to be able to go and see their crafts as part of the wider Celebration: a Festival of Flowers display. We organise lots of fun events for our homeowners to enjoy and this activity was the perfect fit as we love to support and work with the local Salisbury community.”
Facilities within each of the low-maintenance apartments and houses in Salisbury include easy-to-use kitchens with energy-saving appliances, bathrooms with step-free showers and automatic lighting, and extra-wide walkways.
